Fencing & Decking — your questions answered
A quality capped-composite deck on a properly built sub-frame will last 25+ years and carries a long manufacturer warranty. Unlike timber it never needs sanding or oiling — an occasional wash keeps it looking new.
You can generally erect a fence up to 2m high (1m if it fronts a highway) under permitted development. We will confirm the limits for your boundary and, where a neighbour’s wall or a corner plot is involved, advise on the neighbourly way to handle it.
Always. Every post is set in postcrete to the correct depth — this is the single biggest factor in whether a fence survives the first big storm. We never drive posts into soft ground or rely on metal spikes for permanent fencing.
